Java Programming

Java Programming Language - Java is an example of a high-level, robust, and very popular programming language which is based on the concept of “Write Once, Run Anywhere” (WORA). Due to its excellent ability to be independent of the particular platform, Java codes are converted to bytecode that allows them to operate flawlessly on all machines supporting JVM (Java Virtual Machine). Java, due to its scalability, excellent security measures, and automatic memory management (garbage collection), forms the backbone of enterprise software solutions, mobile applications, web backend, and big data technologies.

Course Overview

This course offers an all-rounded approach towards software development with the Java programming language. Suitable for novices and experienced programmers wishing to solidify their knowledge in programming, this course takes learners through the entire process of setting up a development environment right through to developing complete modular applications. Participants will get hands-on practice in writing well-written, maintainable code while getting familiar with OOP – the basis of software development.

Key Objectives

Participants will learn how to do the following after completing this course:

  • Set Up Environment: Install JDK and work with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as IntelliJ IDEA and Eclipse.
  • Write Core Code: Write, compile and execute basic Java programs using proper variable declaration, primitive data types and arithmetic operations.
  • Condition Applications: Use conditional statements (if/else) and looping (for, while) to direct program flow.
  • Implement OOP Coccepts: Create customized classes and develop objects with data abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism.
  • Data Management: Utilize the inbuilt Java structures to organize data in arrays, ArrayList and HashMap.Handle Errors: Apply exception handling to make your code more resilient to runtime errors (try/catch).

Target Audience

  • Aspiring software engineers and web developers.
  • Computer science students seeking support for academic coursework.
  • Professionals transitioning into backend development or mobile application design.
