Constants and Type Modifiers
A constant is a value that should not be changed during program execution.
Constants
const int MAX = 100;
The const keyword prevents the value from being modified.
Type Modifiers
C and C++ provide modifiers such as short, long, signed and unsigned.
unsigned int count;
long int population;
short int value;
Using Constants
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
const double PI = 3.14159;
cout << PI;
return 0;
}
Constants are useful for values such as mathematical constants, configuration values and fixed limits.
